Weddings And Parties

  •  A £50 booking fee will be required to secure your date. This is to be paid within 7 days of confirming the booking other wise the date will be released. If the booking is taken within 28days of your event full payment will be required to secure the date.
  •  The DISCO will require the balance of any engagement fee payable to be made at least 28 days before the date of event.  
  •  If the CLIENT cancels the booking or the event does not take place for any reason, if ONLY the deposit has been paid, then the deposit will be forfeited. A cancellation fee of not less than one half of the agreed fee will also be applied for, if the event is cancelled before the full balance has been received. If the event is cancelled within 28 days of your event and after the full balance is received, then CPS Entertainment will retain the agreed fee, due to loss of earnings.  Cancellation notification must be in writing and receipt of such notification will be confirmed in writing. If full payment is not received within 28 days of your event, we have the right to attend but refuse to set up until payment has been received or cancel our attendance to your event 
  • The DJ will conduct themselves in a manner befitting the engagement and will respond to the CLIENTS requests relating to dress code, volume levels, music played, equipment location or any other reasonable request.
  • The DJ will require access to a properly earthed mains electricity supply, sufficient to allow safe usage of the required equipment for the performance. If the supply is inadequate, then the amount of equipment may be reduced. If the DJ considers that the electricity supply or any other aspect of the event is unsafe then they reserve the right to refuse to start or continue the performance after consultation with the CLIENT. The provisions of clause 2 may also apply.
  • The DJ will use their best endeavours to attend the function. Should they be prevented from attending for any reason, including accident, sudden illness, or weather then a substitute will be found. If no replacement DJ has been found then the CLIENT will receive a full refund of all monies paid to the DJ for that function, however the DJ will not incur any additional liability for non-appearance.
  •  Licences for the performance of recorded music are only required at public events. In most cases, private parties, such as wedding receptions, birthdays etc. which are invitation only and attract no entrance fee do not require a licence. It is the CLIENTS responsibility to obtain such licences if required. Should the DJ be prevented from performing due to the absence of any appropriate licence or similar permission or should the performance be cancelled for any other reason than the provisions of clause 2 will apply.
  • The DJ will require adequate setting up time prior to the performance and a sufficient period afterwards to dismantle and remove their equipment from the venue. The amount of time required is dependent on the package selected and the minimum is annotated on the disco planner.
  • The CLIENT is responsible for providing adequate supervision of all guests, staff and customers at the venue and will be liable for any loss or damage to equipment caused by guests, staff, or customers.
  • The CLIENT warrants that they are entitled to use the venue for the purposes of the event and performance and that the event does not breach any law, bye-law or conditions imposed on the property. The CLIENT is to be aware of any noise orders in place at the venue and be aware that the DJ is not responsible if the event is terminated by the venue whilst the DJ is within the decibel range set by the venue. Provisions of clause 2 will apply
  • Any extension of playing time is purely at the discretion of the DJ and maybe subject to other constraints, however they will do their best to accommodate any such request, although further fee’s may apply and this will be an agreement between CLIENT and DJ. Please note your guests cannot request an extension of playing time, this is due to your contract with both CPS Entertainment and your venue contract. Please don’t be offended if our DJ refuses to extend the event for this reason.
  • The CLIENT engaging the DJ and the DJ accepting the engagement confirms acceptance of all these terms and conditions by signing the agreement above.  
  • In the event, you have also added the Candy Cart / Popcorn Machine from Poppy's Candy Store, then please see the enclosed Terms and conditions for this service. 
  • The CLIENT will be advised any pictures taken will be used for Social Media and website purposes. All pictures will be used by CPS Entertainment for promotional purposes only.  We are happy to send pictures before we upload for your viewing purposes. Please feel free to share them from our social media or website pages, when you are happy with them.

Candy Cart

  • A £50 breakage deposit is required upon booking to secure your date. If unpaid within 7 days , the date will be released for other events. Should anything happen to either the glassware or carts your deposit will be forfeited and you will be held responsible for any major breakages, this will include the cart, glassware, any flower garlands supplied by us and fabric ‘s used.  We will invoice you for further damages to our equipment and this will be payable within 28 days of your event. Your deposit, should everything be in tact upon collection, will be returned within 1 week of your event, we will require banking information for this to be done, if we are collecting the day after your please ensure that is everything intact. We will not hold the venue responsible, unless they have booked directly with us. Deposits maybe returned on the night of your event, if we are collecting on the night, you will be required to sign the form confirming the return of your deposit. 
  • The full balance of the of the hire is due 4 weeks prior to your event
  • The cart must not be used for your guests to leave their drinks glasses on. 
  • The cart will not be set up outside – unless under a marquee and with appropriate hard standing ground. Should the area the cart is being set up in, be inappropriate, we have the right to terminate the contract between CLIENT & POPPY’S CANDY STORE. No refund will be given in this case.  The cart must not be moved under any circumstances, please ensure you inform your venue of this, as damage costs will be invoiced to the CLIENT.  The cart must not be used for your guests to leave their drinks glasses on. 
  •  We will deliver and collect the sweetie cart within a 25-mile radius of IV3 8DN postcode, outside of this will incur a further charge of 45p per mile. 
  • Please note that some sweets may contain or have traces of nuts or nut oils, they may also have been in contact with sweets containing nuts. Poppy’s Candy Store cannot be held responsible for any issues resulting from any food allergies. 
  • Should any guests have any queries regarding ingredients, please refer them to the back of the tags. All information will be available with highlighted allergens, i.e. wheat, soya, milk, etc.
  • Customers should be aware that plastic bags and sweet wrappers can cause choking especially to young children. 
  • We recommend that very young children are supervised always as Poppy’s Candy Store cannot be held responsible for any safety issues which may occur from the consumption of our confectionary or the use of our equipment at your event. 
  • All sweets at the end of your event, all sweets will be bagged up or put into appropriate boxes for you to enjoy afterwards.  Should you wish for us to take them away, we will dispose of them in an appropriate manner. 
  •  Popcorn hire: The machine is hired on a 3hr basis and will be manned by a member of staff from Poppy’s Candy Store. Your popcorn will be unlimited for the duration of your hire and a will include the flavour of your choice. We at Poppy’s Candy Store don’t allow any guests or the person/people hiring this machine to cook the popcorn, but we are happy for you to have pictures taken serving to your guests. Please understand this is for insurance purposes, due to the popcorn kettle being extremely hot during cooking and oil possibly spitting out of the kettle at this time. 
  • Cancellation charges 

Unfortunately should you have to cancel your booking the following charges will apply:


Within 4 weeks of the event - 50% of the total. 

Within 2 weeks of the event - 100% of the total.

Post Box

  • Upon booking the POST BOX a breakage deposit of £15 is required to secure your date. Once the post box has been collected, if no damage has occurred the £15 will be refunded via bank transfer. If substantial damage has occurred at a greater cost of £15 then an invoice for payment for repair will be sent with payment due within 28 days of receipt.  
  • The POST BOX will require the full balance of any engagement fee payable to be made at least 28 days before the date of event. 
  • If the CLIENT cancels the booking or the event does not take place for any reason, if ONLY the deposit has been paid, then the deposit will be forfeited.   • We will require access to the venue on the morning of the event, unless prior agreement is made for the night prior to the event.
  • Should the POST BOX be required for a longer than 24hr hire and/or you wish to collect and drop off, we may request a higher deposit to cover damage, that won’t be seen until the POST BOX has been returned to us. 
  • We will use their best endeavours to attend the function. Should they be prevented from attending for any reason, including accident, sudden illness, or weather then a substitute will be found. If no replacement has been found then the CLIENT will receive a full refund of all monies paid to us for that function, however the we will not incur any additional liability for non-appearance.
  • The CLIENT is responsible for providing adequate supervision of all guests, staff and customers at the venue and will be liable for any loss or damage to equipment caused by guests, staff, or customers. This may result in a further charge for the POSTBOX being replaced at a higher cost than initially hired for.   
  • In the event, you have also added the Disco and / or a Candy Cart from Poppy's Candy Store, then please see the enclosed Terms and conditions for this service. 
  • The CLIENT will be advised any pictures taken will be used for Social Media and website purposes. All pictures will be used by CPS Entertainment and/or Poppy’s Candy Store for promotional purposes only.  We are happy to send pictures before we upload for your viewing purposes. Please feel free to share them from our social media or website pages, when you are happy with them.
